Really nice place to visit!

They offer a free, 30-minute guided tour containing a mix of national, state and local history and they include tons of fun facts and jokes. You are able to hang around, take photos and explore at any time. They are open weekdays from 8am to 5pm and weekends from 9am to 5pm. Tour are 30-45 minute of the building every 15 minutes.  Monday through Friday: 8:30am to 4:30pm; Saturday: 9:30am to 3:30pm; Sunday: Noon to 3:30pm.They have stunning historical buildings and beautiful landscaped.  The grounds are a great place to explore and learn about the area using the signage placed throughout the area. Now remember everything is bigger in Texas, Which means this is the largest capitol building in the United States! Beautiful detailing and long standing history is shown from the giant brass door hinges to the light bulbs that spell out T-E-X-A-S. The top of the dome has a awesome view of the marble floor below.  Make sure you visit the gift shop or dine in the cafeteria.
